Sponsor Our ArticlesIf you live in or around Nags Head, mark your calendars! A very special meeting is coming up on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This event is aimed at oceanfront property owners and sand relocation contractors who are eager to learn more about the important Sand Relocation Program we have in place.
The meeting will take place at the Nags Head Board of Commissioners room, which you can find at 5401 South Croatan Highway. This is a fantastic opportunity for local property owners to come together and gather all the information they need regarding sand relocation services.
During this meeting, equipment operators will have a chance not only to share their expertise but also to be added to a list of sand relocation contractors. This list will be accessible to property owners who request it, providing a valuable resource for those looking for assistance with sand relocation. It’s important to note, however, that the town does not recommend specific contractors; instead, they provide this list solely to help property owners connect with available services.
In addition to discussing contractors, the meeting will cover the Town’s Dune Management Cost Share Program. This program is designed to help reimburse property owners for multiple costs associated with sand relocation and stabilization. Knowing how to navigate these options can really make a difference for those impacted by erosion and other sand-related issues.
If you have any questions or want to get more details ahead of time, you can reach out to Environmental Planner Conner Twiddy at 252-449-6047 or via email at Conner.Twiddy@NagsHeadNC.gov. They’re more than happy to assist you and provide further insights!
On a slightly different note, it’s worth mentioning that there has been some action happening nearby in Kitty Hawk. Recently, a traffic checkpoint resulted in the arrest of an individual on drug charges. This just goes to show that law enforcement is vigilant about keeping our community safe. Remember, it’s always best to remain aware of your surroundings and the laws that govern our area.
And speaking of community, congratulations are in order for Dobrosky, who has recently been named Dare County Employee of the Month. It’s always uplifting to see hard work and dedication recognized, and we hope Dobrosky serves as an inspiration for others in the community.
If you’d like to keep an ear to the ground about local happenings or have further inquiries, you can reach out to the Dare County offices located on 103 W. Woodhill Drive, Nags Head, NC 27959. They can be reached at 252-449-4104.
Remember, community involvement is crucial. Whether it’s participating in meetings about sand relocation or recognizing the contributions of our fellow residents, every little effort adds up to make Nags Head a better place for everyone. See you at the meeting!
