Despite the early morning hours and wind speeds of more than 30 mph, the firefighters managed to get the majority of the fire under control quickly, taking approximately 45 minutes to subdue the incident, according to Deputy Chief Jeffrey Del Monte of the Buxton VFD.
The crews spent an additional two hours combing the site for any remaining hot spots throughout the structure, ensuring the fire’s complete extinguishment to prevent any further damage or potential reignition. Despite the substantial damage to the main building, the firefighting crew successfully prevented the spread of the fire to neighboring structures. No injuries were reported in this incident.
