Outer Banks Chamber Gearing Up for Small Business Awards 2024

In an effort to laud and foster local entrepreneurship, the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce has announced it is now accepting applications for the 2024 Small Business of the Year Awards.

Small Business Awards: Recognizing Success in Different Categories

The awards ceremony, slated to be held on Thursday, August 29, would be an integral part of the Outer Banks Business Update and Small Business Awards breakfast. This prestigious event aims to highlight the accomplishments of diverse small businesses operating in the Outer Banks area, categorizing them into three awards: Small Business with 10 or fewer employees, Small Business with 11-50 employees, and Cool Things Made on the Outer Banks.

The exciting event is set to convene at 8 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn. The distinguished guest for the event is Gary Salimido, the president and CEO of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

“Stand Out Above the Rest”

Welcoming participation and lauding the lively entrepreneurial spirit the event nurtures, Karen Brown, president and CEO of the Outer Banks Chamber, shared, “We are looking for those that stand out above the rest. These awards recognize community partners that make the Outer Banks a great place to live and work.”

Eligibility Criteria and Application Details

Eligible contestants for the award must have their businesses operating in the Outer Banks area, encompassing Dare County, Currituck County, or Ocracoke Island. Furthermore, they must be members in good standing of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce.

A panel of judges from local colleges and chambers of commerce from various parts across the U.S. will critically review the applications. There is an air of anticipation as the competition window narrows; businesses eyeing the award must submit their nominations by 5 p.m., July 19.
