Outer Banks’ Ocrafolk Festival Glory Returns This Weekend

Bringing a medley of music, stories, and art

Summer in the picturesque Outer Banks of North Carolina is set to be more vibrant and exciting as the annual celebration of music, storytelling, and arts, the Ocrafolk Festival, returns this weekend after a hiatus. This three-day event is an exciting blend of live music, captivating storytelling, and local artisan marketplaces, set to unfold on the scenic grounds of the Berkley Manor.

24 Years of Community Celebration

Now in its 24th edition, the festival has not just brought the community together but has also hoisted the cultural flag of Ocracoke Island. The 2024 Ocrafolk Festival will feature a wide variety of performers. Festival-goers can expect to be charmed by live performances from musicians ranging across numerous genres like blues, country, soul, funk, classical, bluegrass, and spiritual music.

Impressive Line-up of Performers

The event’s extraordinary artist line-up promises a weekend filled with unmatched celebration and soulful entertainment. Performers include the renowned Diali Cissokho and Kaira Ba, Clements Brothers, Cold Chocolate, Lipbone Redding, the Rev. Robert Jones, Cassie and Maggie MacDonald, Jacob Johnson, and Biscuit Eaters among others.

Kid’s Corner And Artisan Village

While music will be the soul of the festival, there is a whole lot more for attendees of all age groups. Kids will have their own special activities including shirt painting with fish prints made from locally caught fish. For everyone else, there will be a tantalizing display of pottery, woodwork, paintings, photography and metal, leather, glass, cloth, tea, soap and jewelry at the artisan village. The festival will also feature a traditional square dance and an exciting giant puppet parade.

Tickets and Proceeds

The event tickets range from $25 to $90, varying with the duration of stay and early booking. Entry is free for children 17 and under. There’s also something special for the local residents with a specially priced pass introduced for the first time. Proceeds from the festival will be used to support various student and community programs.

A Scintillating Summer Awaits

Undoubtedly, the returning Ocrafolk Festival is all set to make the Outer Banks’ summer more colorful and cultural. It presents a jugalbandi of community spirit, local artistry, melodious performances, and unforgettable experiences. Amidst the serene backdrop of the Berkley Manor, the festival promises a weekend of pure and enrichening celebration.
