If you’re in the Outer Banks area and have a vested interest in the local business scene, you’re in for a treat! The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce has some exciting news: they are hosting a North Carolina Business Update event on Thursday, August 29th at the Hilton Garden Inn. The fun kicks off bright and early at 8:00 a.m..
One of the highlights of this event will be a special presentation by the President and CEO of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Gary Salimido. His presentation will be an insightful update on the current state of business in our beautiful state. This is a great opportunity to learn about the impactful efforts that the NC Chamber of Commerce is undertaking to support and enhance business across North Carolina. Whether you’re a business owner or simply interested in the economy, this session promises to be engaging and informative.
But that’s not all! This event will also serve as a platform to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of local businesses through the 2024 Small Business of the Year Awards. Awards will be presented in two categories: one for businesses with 10 employees or less and another for those with 11 to 50 employees. This is a wonderful way to honor the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in our community.
In an exciting new twist, the Chamber will also be introducing the inaugural Cool Things Made In the OBX Award. This award will shine a spotlight on innovation and creativity nestled right here in our local community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the unique products and ideas that make the Outer Banks a special place.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support from local businesses. Special thanks go out to our sponsors: Wanchese Marine Industrial Park (Small Business of the Year Award Sponsor), SAGA/Hotel Manteo (Gold Sponsor), Manteo Marine (Gold Sponsor), Dominion Energy (Silver Sponsor), and East Albemarle District (Silver Sponsor). Their unwavering support plays an essential role in making this important event happen.
Now, you might be wondering how to be part of this enlightening event and awards ceremony. The cost of attending is fairly reasonable: $35 for chamber members and $45 for future members. This ticket price includes a delicious full breakfast, making it a great way to kick-start your day while networking and learning.
If you’re as excited as we are about this event, make sure to register online at www.outerbankschamber.com/ncupdate2024 or give the Chamber a call at (252) 441-8144. We recommend securing your spot as early as possible since seats may fill up fast!
This is more than just an event; it’s a chance to engage with fellow business leaders, gain knowledge about the local economy, and celebrate the accomplishments of our peers. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to make the Outer Banks an even stronger community!
