Nags Head Resident Receives New HVAC System Through Feel the Love Program

On October 7, 2024, a deserving local resident, Karen Brown, received a brand-new air conditioning system courtesy of the Lennox Feel the Love program. Karen is not just any resident; she is a beloved figure in the Nags Head community. Having spent years as an assistant teacher at Nags Head Elementary School and as a preschool teacher at St. Andrew’s By the Sea Episcopal Church, she has touched the lives of countless children and families. In 2020, Karen opened Street Smart Driving School, becoming the Outer Banks’ first private driving school, where she continues to help prepare the next generation of drivers in Dare County.
A Little Help from Friends
Recently, Karen faced a challenge when her aging HVAC system broke down, leaving her in a bind as she headed into the cooler months. Recognizing her dedication and the struggles she was facing, a friend took it upon themselves to nominate her for the Lennox Feel the Love program. This program invites residents to nominate local heroes who could benefit from a new heating or cooling system, and it’s comforting to know that communities are looking out for each other.
