With a current record of 13-6, the Wolverines are aiming to build on their successes as they travel down south to face some fierce opponents.
The adventure kicks off with a big clash against the North Carolina Tar Heels on March 4, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Anderson Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Tar Heels come into this game with a solid record of 18-3, sure to test the Wolverines. Just two days later, the Wolverines will take on East Carolina, who has a record of 11-7, at Max R. Joyner Stadium at 5 p.m. on March 6. These matches are just the beginning of what promises to be an exhilarating spring break for the team.
Michigan will then dive into a four-game series on March 7-8, 2025, in Greensboro, N.C., taking on new foes for the first time in program history, North Carolina Central (1-13) and UNC Greensboro (15-4). The Wolverines will face North Carolina Central at 11 a.m. on March 7 and 10 a.m. on March 8, while matches against UNC Greensboro are scheduled for 4 p.m. on March 7 and 12:30 p.m. on March 8. With a rich history of competition against North Carolina colleges, it will be exciting to see how they fare against these new challengers.
Looking back at the Wolverines’ recent performances, they’ve been on fire lately, boasting their longest win streak of the season with five victories. In the past five games played in North Carolina, the team displayed impressive stats with a batting average of .292 and a slugging percentage of .447. This included smashing six doubles, two triples, and five home runs. With an on-base percentage of .370, the Wolverines have shown they know how to get on base and make things happen!
One player to keep an eye on is freshman first baseman Lauren Putz, who is currently leading the team with a dazzling .377 batting average and a monstrous .755 slugging percentage.
