As the sun sets on the charming town of Manteo, the warmth of community spirit will shine bright this Saturday, November 9, at 7 PM. The historic Pioneer Theater will play host to an enchanting evening of storytelling through song showcasing three gifted musicians, all brought to life by the visions of Dare Arts and The Pioneer Theater.
Get ready to experience a magical night as the co-founder of Soldier Songs and Voices, Tony Rosario, founder of the Veterans Writing Project, Ron Capps, and talented singer-songwriter-producer Jana Pochop take the stage together for a unique song swap. “We are three very different songwriters, but all come to the craft with a heart for telling stories through song,” said the enthusiastic Pochop. She explained, “The round-table format will be a joyful way to create a totally unique show for everyone.” Guests can expect a delightful blend of indie, folk, and Americana music, promising to tug at the heartstrings and elevate spirits throughout the evening.
Michael Basnight, the owner of The Pioneer Theater, expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “We are excited to coordinate with Dare Arts in hosting the upcoming Outer Banks Veterans Concert. The theater is such a cool venue to experience live music in. It goes without saying we are honored to offer this experience for our active-duty military and Veterans. We are grateful for all they do on our behalf each and every day.”
Want to join in on the fun? Tickets for the concert are incredibly affordable! If you have a military or veteran ID, you’ll pay just $5.00. For everyone else, the general admission fee is just $10. Grab your tickets now online at ThePioneerTheater.com and secure your spot for a night of incredible entertainment.
But that’s not all! These talented musicians will also lead the 12th Annual Outer Banks Veterans Writing Workshop taking place on Saturday, November 9, and Sunday, November 10, at the UNC Coastal Studies Institute. The workshop, focused on songwriting, is absolutely free for Veterans, active-duty military, and their families. Not only that, but participants will also enjoy complimentary admission to the concert! Registration for the workshop is currently open at DareArts.org/veterans, but hurry, as space is limited.
This concert and the songwriting workshop are part of the broader Outer Banks Veterans Week, which runs from November 4 to November 11. This week is dedicated to honoring and celebrating our Veterans, and Dare Arts is creating a digital calendar of events that lists ceremonies, activities, and specials for Veterans from Corolla to Hatteras Village. If you or your organization wish to contribute, just email DareArtsEvents@gmail.com with your event details!
