Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug Arrest in Avon
An ordinary traffic stop takes an unexpected turn

Their hunch proved to be right on target as the search led to the recovery of significant quantities of Fentanyl, Heroin, and various forms of Drug Paraphernalia. Upon further probing, the investigating officers discovered the suspect’s dwelling.
A breakthrough at the hotel room
The investigation took another pivotal turn when the officers discovered the hotel room that the individual occupied. What it held was an assortment of illegal substances including Cocaine, Marijuana, prescription medication not registered to the suspect, and additional Drug Paraphernalia.

The accused, revealed to be William Thaddeus Bridgeman, a 45-years-old man from Reston, Virginia, is now facing serious drug-related charges. These include (F) Possession of Schedule I, two counts of (F) Possession of Schedule II, (M) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and (M) Maintaining a Dwelling for the purposes of drug activity.
Secured bond and pending trial
Bridgeman’s currently under the custody of Dare County’s law enforcement, with a $50,000 secured bond issued against his name. The charges mounted against Bridgeman are severe, carrying potentially heavy sentences if proven guilty in the court of law.
