Exciting Fundraiser Launches Shelter Season in Kill Devil Hills with Lunch to Go Event

Exciting Fundraiser Kicking Off the Season in Kill Devil Hills!

Hey there, folks of Kill Devil Hills! As the cooler weather starts rolling in, it’s time for our community to come together in support of a truly wonderful cause. The OBX Room in The Inn (RITI) is all set to launch its 2024-25 shelter season with a bang, and you won’t want to miss their first big event—a fabulous Lunch to Go fundraiser!

When and Where?

Mark your calendars for November 10th from 11 AM to 3 PM. That’s right! This Sunday, grab your friends, family, or even your neighbors, and make your way to Kelly’s OBX Catering, located at 1004 9th Avenue. This drive-thru style fundraiser is perfect for anyone on the go, allowing you to snag a delicious meal while supporting a great cause!

What’s on the Menu?

Are you ready for this? You’ll have a choice between Fried Chicken or Shrimp and Grits, both served up with a refreshing salad, a tasty side dish, and a delightful dessert to round it all off. Yum! And if that wasn’t enough, you can also choose to donate your meal back to the shelter so that the guests can enjoy it too. Talk about double the goodness!

Why is this Important?

Shari Fiveash, the Executive Director of OBX Room in The Inn, shared her excitement about the event: “Our first event of the season, the annual Lunch to Go fundraiser, has become a beloved tradition among OBX Room In The Inn’s supporters. The event provides much-needed funds as we open RITI for the 2024-25 season.” It’s incredible to see the community coming together to help those in need, and knowing that your meal will contribute to a great cause just makes it even better.

Who’s Helping Out?

We’d also like to extend a big thank you to the sponsors that have made this event possible! Major supporters include the General P.X. Kelley Memorial Fund, Performance Food Service, Sysco, US Foods, and the Outer Banks Restaurant Association. Their generosity helps ensure that our local homeless shelter can continue to provide vital services to those in need this season.

How to Get Your Tickets?

Getting your tickets is as easy as pie! They’re available for only $25 each and can be snapped up online at this link. If you prefer to chat, just give them a call at (252) 255-1133. Remember, every ticket you buy not only secures a delicious meal but also goes a long way in supporting those who need it the most in our community.

Join Us! It’s Going to Be a Blast!

Be sure to spread the word about this exciting event among your friends and family—every little bit helps! So whether you’re collecting meals for your family or donating a meal for a guest, you’ll be doing more than just enjoying a good lunch. You’ll be part of a community effort that truly cares.

Let’s come together on November 10th and enjoy some fantastic food while helping out our friends and neighbors. See you at Kelly’s OBX Catering for a meal that makes a difference!
