Sponsor Our ArticlesHey there, Kill Devil Hills! We’ve got some important news that could affect your travels around town this week. If you’re planning to hit the roads, make sure to mark your calendars for some temporary closures that are set to take place.
First up, we’ll have a temporary road closure on Wrightsville Boulevard. This is happening on Monday, October 14, 2024, starting at 8:00 a.m.. The closure will be at the intersection with E. Baum Street to allow for crucial utility and roadway improvements being carried out by Hatchell Concrete Inc.
For those who may be worried about getting to your homes, don’t fret! Wrightsville Boulevard will still be open for local access. If you live north of the intersection, you can get to your home via E. Goddard Avenue. On the flip side, if you’re south of the intersection, just use E. Baum Street. The plans indicate that the street is expected to reopen around 5:00 p.m. the same day. So, it’s just a short interruption!
Next, let’s talk about East Baum Street, which will also have a temporary closure. This will take place starting at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, and will last until Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Just like with Wrightsville, this closure will occur at the intersection of Wrightsville Boulevard, and is also part of the same utility and roadway improvements.
Good news for residents! East Baum Street will remain accessible for local traffic. If you need to access homes west of the intersection, you can go through US 158. For those east of the intersection, just make your way via South Virginia Dare Trail. You can expect this street to open back up by 5:00 p.m. on October 16, giving you just a bit of time to plan around it.
You might be wondering why all of sudden we’re seeing these closures. Well, the Town of Kill Devil Hills is aiming to improve our roads and utilities to make commuting safer and smoother for everyone. With the expert services of Hatchell Concrete Inc., we’re optimistic that this project will lead to better roads and improved utility services in the future.
So, if you have any plans this week that involve driving near these areas, it’s essential to stay informed and aware of these temporary adjustments. These road closures can be a tad inconvenient, but they are all part of the effort to enhance our lovely town. We appreciate your understanding and patience as the improvements take place. If you have any questions, consider reaching out to local authorities for more details.
All in all, let’s remember that these changes are designed to help our community thrive. Make sure to pay attention to signs and the flow of traffic, and don’t forget to give your neighbors a heads-up if they might be affected by these closures. Safe travels, Kill Devil Hills, and happy commuting!
