Hey there, Dare County residents! As we gear up for the upcoming elections, there’s some buzz in the air about two important forums happening this week that you won’t want to miss. This is a fantastic chance for you to hear directly from the candidates running for the Board of Education and the Board of Commissioners. So grab your calendars and mark these dates!
First up is the Board of Education Forum, taking place on Monday, September 30th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This event will be held in the Board of Commissioner’s Meeting Room at the Dare County Administration Building, located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Dr. in Manteo.
If you can’t make it to Manteo, don’t worry! The forum will also be livestreamed at The Fessenden Annex in Buxton, situated at 47013 Buxton Back Road, so you can still get in on the action from the comfort of Buxton.
Here’s where it gets really interesting: Dare County residents are encouraged to submit questions for the candidates. This is your chance to voice your concerns or ask about issues that matter to you. Whether it’s about educational policies, funding, or community programs, don’t hold back! Engaging in this way ensures that the discussions are relevant and reflective of what the community wants to know.
Next on the agenda is the Board of Commissioners Forum, happening on Thursday, October 3rd, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Just like the BOE Forum, this event will take place in the Board of Commissioner’s Meeting Room at the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo and will also be livestreamed at The Fessenden Annex in Buxton.
There’s really no excuse to not be informed this election season! Opportunities like these forums allow us as a community to engage and learn about our potential leaders. By attending or watching the livestream, you’ll be in a better position to make educated decisions when you cast your vote.
It’s not just about the elections, either! Dare County is buzzing with activity. For those who love the arts, the premiere of ‘Winged Horses of the Outer Banks’ has been rescheduled for October 3rd, adding even more excitement to the mix. Plus, Dare County was well-represented at the Special Olympics North Carolina Equestrian Tournament, showcasing our local talent and spirit.
The N.C. Department of Transportation’s Integrated Mobility Division is seeking your input to improve transportation access for seniors. This is another opportunity for you to make your voice heard in a critical area that impacts many residents.
So there you have it, folks! Make sure to attend the forums this week, submit your questions, and engage with the candidates. It’s all about making our voices heard and working together to shape the future of Dare County. Let’s get out there and make a difference!
