Elizabeth City Welcomes the Outer Banks Chorus for Holiday Concerts

The Outer Banks Chorus is gearing up for its annual holiday concerts, titled “Gettin’ In The Mood For Christmas!” On December 14 and 15, residents and visitors of Elizabeth City and Kill Devil Hills can experience a festive musical celebration filled with holiday classics and beautiful compositions.

Who is Involved?

The event will showcase the talented singers of the Outer Banks Chorus, which is under the able direction of Kyle Cook and accompanied by Barry Ambrose. The chorus will also feature special guest appearances from Tom Ullom on percussion and Dave Kreiselman on saxophone. Additionally, local high school choirs from Pasquotank High School and First Flight High School will lend their voices to the performances, enhancing the community spirit of the event.

What to Expect?

Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of music, including beloved holiday songs such as “Carol of the Bells” and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town.” Beyond these traditional favorites, the concert will also feature remarkable works by acclaimed composers like Molly Ijames, Eric Whitacre, and Craig Courtney, promising a delightful evening for music lovers of all ages.

When and Where?

The concerts will take place on:

  • December 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the College of The Albemarle Performing Arts Center in Elizabeth City, featuring the Pasquotank High School Choir.
  • December 15 at 4 p.m. at the David E. Oaksmith Auditorium, First Flight High School in Kill Devil Hills, featuring the First Flight High School Choir.

Additionally, there will be a bonus performance on December 21 at The Elizabethan Gardens, further extending the holiday cheer throughout the season.
