‘OBX Women in the Wild’ Exhibit on Display at Duck Town Hall through April 24

Exhibit Showcasing North Carolina Wildlife Photography

The captivating ‘OBX Women in the Wild’ exhibit, featuring a collection of exceptional wildlife photography by prominent photographers, is now all set for the public at Duck Town Hall. Life-like images of North Carolina’s wildlife adorned terrains, beaches, and the refuge in this first-of-its-kind exhibit, which will be on display through Wednesday, April 24, 2024. The exhibit runs in the first-floor conference room of the Town Hall.

Nature Photography: A Passion and a Gesture for Wildlife

Joyce Edwards, one of the leading photographers participating in the exhibit, views nature photography as a passion that draws her close to wildlife. Every encounter with wildlife becomes an educational experience, offering unique insights into nature’s various subjects. She believes that wildlife has much to offer in lessons when we are allowed into their world. Edwards also encourages others to enjoy, learn and protect the wildlife’s existence. Her statement “Each encounter is considered a gift” resonates with her work.

Jaqueline Orsulak: Capturing the Beauty of Nature

Another talented photographer, Jaqueline Orsulak, finds joy in capturing special moments in nature and sharing them with others. For her, photography is not just a vocation but a passion. Her belief “preserve and protect nature” reflects in her riveting compositions which visibly urge viewers to appreciate and protect nature.

Cyndi Goetcheus Sarfan: Sharing Space with Creatures

Cyndi Goetcheus Sarfan’s work offers a fresh perspective on the universe. She co-exists with the remarkable creatures she encounters in the Outer Banks, where she watches them survive, raise their families and find shelter under harsh conditions. She feels a huge sense of gratitude for her own shelter, family, and food. Sarfan shares, “I stand in awe at tiny acts of courage, of resilience and strength.”

Eve Turek: A Spiritual Journey with Wildlife

For Eve Turek, photography is a spiritual journey, especially when shooting wildlife. She seeks to capture wildlife not as a predator, but as a seeker of connection. Her unique approach offers a window into wild worlds and wild lives. In the excitement of a wonderful sighting, she remains conscious to express her thanks, whether aloud or in her spirit.

The ‘OBX Women in the Wild’ exhibit intends to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of wildlife among the visitors. You can visit Duck Town Hall at 1200 Duck Rd. to experience this fascinating wildlife photography showcase.
