First Friday in Manteo

The First Friday in Manteo is a street event that will make any new visitor fall in love with this picturesque seaside hamlet. It is held every month on the first Friday of the month.

Duck Jazz Festival

Saturday, October 8th 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Every year in early October, the Town of Duck invites jazz to Duck Town Park. This event is free and open to the public. Food and drinks are available for purchase from local restaurants, and chairs can be rented. Food, coolers, chairs, blankets, and well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

There will be no beach umbrellas or tents allowed during the event. The Duck Jazz Festival takes place in rain or shine.


Each year, we hope that guests will prolong their stay on the Outer Banks to enjoy jazz-themed events and promotions at Duck businesses and beyond. By visiting the Events Around Town website, you can learn more about jazz-themed activities and festivities at local businesses.

Outer Banks Seafood Festival

Wings Over Water

The Outer Banks, and in particular the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, is renowned as one of the top bird-watching places in the world, and the annual Wings Over Water event celebrates this reputation like no other local festival. The week-long event, held in October, includes a variety of educational events, talks, and opportunities to meet and greet fellow birders.

 

Attendees will also be able to go on guided birding tours, attend art and photography workshops, take a tram or kayak tour of the National Wildlife Refuge, explore an old maritime forest, and much more during this year’s festival. A complete calendar is available on the organization’s website, and guests should be aware that some sessions do need a nominal fee to participate.

Blackbeard's Pirate Jamboree
