Dare Arts Calls for Entries to the 27th Annual Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show

Dare Arts Invites Artists for the 27th Annual Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show

In a bid to strengthen and celebrate the artistic community, Dare Arts has officially announced its call for entries for the 27th annual Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show. The event is scheduled to open at the Dare Arts Gallery in downtown Manteo on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Spectacle of Artistic Excellence

Artists eager to showcase their talents can register online at DareArts.org/molliefearingshow, where they can find the event prospectus and set the drop-off date for their work. The art show will be judged by renowned artist Patrick Berran, who has had successful exhibitions all over the United States and the United Kingdom. In 2012, Berran gained notable recognition when Modern Painters named him among ‘100 Artists to Watch’.

Mollie Fearing – Symbol of Artistic Inspiration

The art extravaganza is held in memory of Mollie A. Fearing, one of the founders of Dare Arts. This annual event has become a platform for dynamic and diverse art. Recalling her mother’s passion for art, Grizelle Fearing, Mollie’s daughter said, “Music and art filled our homes. My mother painted and so did my uncles. When I think of art, I think of music. My family is pleased to have this spring show carry forward her name.”

Event Details

The grand opening reception will be hosted at Dare Arts’ Courtroom Gallery on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the community. Following the opening reception, the display will be accessible to the public during normal gallery hours from May 7 through June 1, 2024.
